I’d love to learn mahjong, but I don’t know where to start.

We kept hearing it. EasyMahj is our answer.

A little history

A tradition of its own

Mahjong began in China in the 1800s. When it came to the United States in the 1920s, players here developed their own way to play, and American mahjong grew into a tradition of its own, passed down around kitchen tables for generations.

We’re grateful to everyone who has kept this game alive and growing, and we want to help more people find their way to the table.

Why I made it

Think of it as a first step

Almost everyone I know has someone in their life who plays mahjong, and a friend who is still waiting for someone to teach them. Plenty of players also have grown kids and grandkids who watched the game for years and never learned. I made EasyMahj for all of them.

Starting out can feel like walking into a room where everyone already knows the rules. EasyMahj gives four friends everything they need to play a full game on their first night. Our first playtesters had never touched a tile, and by the end of the night they were asking for a rematch.

Once you’re hooked, the official card and a whole community of players are waiting for you.
